from Leo Giovanetti.

I found Jugá Tenis almost by accident. I was looking for a better way to find people to play tennis with in Uruguay. I was not looking for a tournament platform or a club-management system. I simply wanted an easier way to discover other players, arrange matches, and spend more time on court.

Jugá Tenis looked like it could solve that problem, but at the time the app was only available in Argentina. I reached out to Sergio Gregorutti, who had created it, and we met over a video call.

I explained how I had found the app and why it caught my attention. Sergio told me how Jugá Tenis had started, how he had built the first version, and how the product was already gaining traction in Argentina. During that conversation, he asked whether I would be interested in helping him bring it to Uruguay.

At first, the idea was mostly local. I would help launch the platform in Uruguay, understand the local tennis community, attract players, build relationships, and make the product useful in a new market.

That was already interesting to me because I have always liked products that create real-world interactions. Jugá Tenis is not trying to keep people inside the app for as long as possible. The product works when two people find each other, close the app, pick up their rackets, and meet on a court.

As Sergio and I continued talking, the collaboration gradually expanded beyond the Uruguay launch. My background is in software architecture, product development, and engineering leadership. I have spent years building web platforms, leading teams, making architectural decisions, and helping products grow without making their systems impossible to maintain.

It was natural for our conversations to move into the technical side of the product. We started discussing the architecture, the current foundation, future features, international expansion, and what Jugá Tenis would need to become a broader and more scalable platform.

What began as a conversation about launching in Uruguay became a broader discussion about how we could build the next stage of the product together.

Sergio brings the original idea, the first execution, the existing community, the product knowledge, and the traction already created in Argentina. I started contributing through architecture, engineering, product evolution, expansion, and the structure required to support growth across countries.

The combination makes sense. Sergio understands the problem deeply because he has worked on it from the beginning. He created the product, tested it with real players, built the first community, and proved that people wanted it. I bring experience in turning products into systems that can evolve, scale, and support more ambitious versions of themselves.

We are now discussing how to deepen the collaboration and move from helping each other in different parts of the project toward becoming long-term partners.

There are many possible directions for Jugá Tenis. The platform can continue expanding geographically, starting with Uruguay and later reaching more countries. It can become more useful to players before, during, and after a match. It can help communities organize themselves around skill level, location, availability, competition, and shared interests.

There is also the possibility of expanding beyond tennis. Many sports have the same underlying problem: people want to play, but finding the right person, at the right level, in the right place, at the right time is harder than it should be.

That broader direction may eventually require a more global identity, a new brand, or a platform that supports multiple sports. The product can evolve in different ways, but the original purpose should remain the same: use technology to help people meet and do something together in the real world.

That is what makes Jugá Tenis interesting to me. I did not start this journey because I was looking for another software project. I was looking for someone to play tennis with.

That search led me to Sergio, then to a video call, then to helping with Uruguay, and eventually to conversations about architecture, product strategy, international growth, and a deeper partnership.

Jugá Tenis started in Argentina as a way to help people find other players and organize matches. We are now working on what comes next, with the goal of bringing it to more players, more courts, more countries, and potentially more sports.
